Announcing When Winter Winds Blow Cowl FREE Pattern!

I’m so excited to announce that my stashbuster cowl pattern, When Winter Winds Blow, has been published by Knotions!  This means it’s FREE and can be downloaded as a PDF from the Knotions pattern page here. Just click on the img_4505 icon and you’ll be able to either print out a copy or save a PDF of the pattern.

When Winter Winds Blow is a great stashbuster! All you need are one main color and a contrasting color in the form of a skein of fingering yarn or leftover yarn scraps or both! Variegateds look great as the contrast color ~ OR ~ you can use your favorite sports team colors!

When Winter Winds Blow is knit in the round, with a provisional cast on and a kitchener bind off. The cast on and bind off enclose your wrong side and yarn ends so you can throw on your cowl without ever having to worry if the wrong side is showing.

So here’s one I knit up with one skein each of Zen Serenity Silk Single in Truffle and Claysand. This yarn has silk in it and is super soft! My project notes are here.

Here’s another one I knit with one skein each of Show Me Yarn Bootheel in colorways Bois d’Arc and Dogwood Canyon. Great durable, yet soft, yarn! My project notes are here.  As you can see, it’s longer and can be worn as a single loop or doubled so it’s closer to your neck.

Lastly, I had this wonderful set of unspecified colorways of Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails I won in a random drawing from StevenBe’s Mix Your Six workshop. The main color is Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light in colorway Great Gray Owl. My project notes are here. This one can be worn as a single or double loop as well.

And all these sample cowls are available for sale in my Etsy shop.

Let When Winter Winds Blow be your fun stashbuster cowl this season!
